This page is a gateway to information on many of the services that Administrative Information Services offers.  The buttons on the left side of the screen will take you quickly to pages which describe our services in greater detail as will clicking on the underlined service name below.  These pages provide how-tos, suggestions and in some cases, even forms which you can print in your office.

Change Password
Use this page to change a Windows NT, Active Directory or SQL Server password assigned to you by AIS.
 
Connect to AIS Mainframe
Have you been given access to one of the AIS mainframe applications such as the Student Information System?  This set of pages will show you how to download mainframe terminal emulation software and how to connect to AIS.
 
Programming Requests
Use the Request for Application Services (RAS) form to submit programming requests to AIS.  You can even print a RAS in your office to avoid waiting for a forms order from General Stores.
 
Security Requests
If you're responsible for security within one of the AIS applications, these pages will show you how to submit an Access Request Memo (ARM) and will let you print this form on your office printer.
 
Sentinel
Sentinel software allows MSU faculty and staff to embed web authentication functions into their web based applications. It is available in most common web server environments.
 
Job Run Requests
Every job run on the AIS mainframe is scheduled for execution by the office that "owns" the job.  This page tells you how to request that a job run on a particular date with specific run-time inputs.
 
Job Output
Look here for information about pickup or delivery of printed output from your jobs, data available for download to your PC or server and creating tape files.
 
AIS Document Viewer
If you want to store a mainframe-produced report electronically and to view and/or print  using a web browser, the AIS Document Viewer service may be what you need.  You may also be able to get web access to reports that already exist in Document Viewer.  Look here for more information about this service including features, requirements, how to get started, accessing existing reports, and much more.
 
webDoc
The webDoc software enables MSU web applications to access, retrieve and display AIS-generated reports stored in Document Viewer.
 
Remote Printing
You may have some reports from mainframe jobs that you would prefer to print in your own office.  This page tells you how to make that happen and also includes a list of printers that can support this.
 
Information Systems
Check this page for a list of the major applications maintained by AIS.  Also link directly to some applications like Stu-Info and Info-Adm.
 
Training Solutions
Find an overview of the many training options that are available through the Libraries, Computing & Technology Training Program.  Also link to course schedules and all the information you need to get registered in the class of your choice.
 
Client Computing
Many faculty and staff members across campus are able to write their own programs using data provided by AIS applications.  Check this page for convenient links to some handy information for our client programmers.
 
Reporting Databases
AIS maintains several databases that allow our clients to create reports and download data directly to their PCs or servers.  This page will link you to information about how to get access to these databases plus some good documentation about what's available.
 
Public Web Server
Are you a member of an MSU Department or College who is interested in developing Microsoft Active Server Page applications?  If so, the AIS Public Web Server may be helpful to you. We can provide a secure, reliable and robust NT server environment where you can develop and run your applications.
 
Forms Tracking Utility
The Forms Tracking Utility software and databases make up an environment that allows University-wide or departmental electronic forms to be routed to multiple persons for review, approval and tracking.
 
webCredit
If your department provides products or services to the public or to other MSU departments and you wish to accept credit card payments over the Internet, webCredit services provided by AIS will allow you to do so.  Look here for information about how to get started.
 
Issue Tracking System
Use this system to track bugs, issues, and enhancements. This system allows for retention of information regarding issues as a reference and as a means of communication of an issue. e-mails are generated to alert interested parties and data is collected about the problem and about the solution.
 
Digitized Signatures
If your office creates mass mailings or checks using mainframe programs, here are the instructions for how to have a signature digitized so that it is printed on your letters as they go through our laser printers.  You can also prints some forms from this page that will make your request for a digitized signature faster and easier.
 
Mailing Labels
Do you need to send a mailing to MSU's executive management or to all faculty and staff?   This page will walk you through the steps you need to follow to get a set of mailing labels for either of these groups.
 
PC/LAN Support
Having problems with your PC or LAN server?  This page will provide contact and cost information on PC and LAN hardware and software support.
